Adult Formation Corner:

Trinity Church Takes Over Episcopal Theology!

One of the great joys of being part of Trinity Church is seeing how people use their gifts to serve God and the Church. Right now, several members of Trinity have new books out from Church Publishing that you should know about.

The first is Wisdom, Knowledge, and Faith: New Essays on the Future of Theology and the Episcopal Church, a collection of essays by theologians in the Episcopal Church. Trinity Church is the home of two of the 15 authors in the collection - Maxine King and myself.

The second is Eleanor Roosevelt’s Nightly Prayer by Donn Mitchell, a look inside the spiritual life of one of the most consequential First Ladies in American history.

Is God Calling You or Your Child to Serve on the Altar?

Trinity Church is launching a new Acolyte Program for children and teens in grades 5 and up—and we’d love for your family to be part of it!

Youth are invited to join our team of adult and seminary acolytes in the important role of torchbearers during worship. This meaningful ministry offers a unique opportunity to grow in faith, learn the rhythms of our liturgy, and take an active leadership role in the life of the church.

What’s Involved?

• Low commitment: Serve just 6 times a year, at the 10:30 a.m. service (or 10:00 a.m. in the summer), using a simple online sign-up.

• Initial training: A single one-hour session will prepare participants for service.

• Ongoing mentoring: New acolytes will receive support and guidance as they grow in confidence.

• Treble Choristers are encouraged to acolyte on their off Sundays—offering a fresh and enriching view of the liturgy.

Description:

The Prosopon School of Iconology invites students of all levels to participate in the 2026 workshop. Intermediate and advanced students are invited to work on the full figure icon of Daniel in the Lions’ Den. Beginning students will work on an icon of the head and shoulders of the Prophet Daniel. Each day of the workshop will begin with an iconological discussion relating to these subjects and of the liturgical steps of the process, using the Prosopon method. Practical instructions and demonstrations will follow. The Prosopon School teaches the ancient method of painting with egg tempera and water-based gilding. Step by step instructions will include discussions about the symbolism of the process.

Bach St. Matthew Passion Free Ticket

Join the Princeton University Chamber Choir for an Easter performance of Bach’s most revered Oratorio, St. Matthew Passion. We are honored and excited to join forces with Julian Gregory of The King’s Singers (Evangelist), Kevin Deas of Princeton University (Jesus), and the storied Baroque orchestra The Sebastians.

And most importantly, some familiar faces of Trinity Church will be singing! Current Staff Singers Noël McCormick and Maddy Kushan will be singing in the chorus, along with former Staff Singer Chris Hodson, and former Head Chorister Maura Tuffy.
