Trinity Church in Princeton is hosting a flower arranging workshop on Saturday, November 4. This is an exciting opportunity for all the members of Diocesan Altar Guilds who work with flowers - and those who want to work with flowers at their church).

Details: 
Date: Saturday, November 4, 2023 at Trinity Church.
Time: 10 AM to 3 PM 
Cost: $10.00 per person for the flowers you can take home!
Lunch will be provided
Please bring a small container in which to arrange.

Topics include dramatic but traditional arrangement, dramatic and  “WOW” arrangement, arranging for small spaces, followed by making your own arrangement with help and advice. 

The schedule may change slightly, but please let us know you are coming!  The flower and lunch order will be firm on October 30th, as we need to plan flower quantities and lunch.

This Sunday, we will observe All Saints' Sunday. As part of our observance, we will have a display board in the Narthex and we invite you to bring a photo of a loved one you would like to remember this weekend. We will also have Post-It Notes available to add names. We hope you'll take this opportunity to add to our "great cloud of witnesses."

The combined choirs of Trinity Church present Maurice Duruflé's transcendent Requiem in memory of those we love and have lost. Join us for an evening of exquisite music experienced within the timeless beauty of the Anglican liturgical tradition.

This service is offered in loving memory of Rev. Dr. Sonia Waters.

The final Newcomers event of the year is the Tea at the Rectory on Sunday, November 12 at 4 pm.  Father Paul Jeanes lives next door to the church at 25 Mercer St.  It's a one-hour event as we'll walk with him to the church at 5 pm for Compline. Children are welcome to attend.  Enjoy snacks and tea, cider or wine while getting to know our clergy, vestry and fellow newcomers.  

We have been busy putting everything in place for Trinity’s biggest fundraising event of the year now benefitting 5 local organizations, ArmInArm, Urban Promise Trenton, Capital Harmony Works (Trenton Children’s Chorus), Housing Initiatives of Princeton, and Homefront. Last year we distributed $70,000 to our local groups form the proceeds of our wonderful one day event. 

You can still register to run or walk or roll our 5k Thanksgiving Day race at www.trinityturkeytrot.org. This is great way to start your Thanksgiving Day and making a difference in so many people’s lives. This is an all volunteer event and we need your help! Please sign up on our website to serve a shift on Sunday 11.20, Wednesday 11.23 or on Thanksgiving morning. 

We are also accepting non perishable food items on Race Day that will be collected and distributed to the food insecure by ArmInArm. You can drop off at their truck in the parking circle at the church. 

THE ELVES HAVE PUT THEIR THINKING CAPS ON…

and we hope you will too!  The St. Nicholas Bazaar is December 9! Our famous Cookie Walk and the ever popular Bake Table will need many goodies to satisfy our hungry customers, as well as those looking for wonderful gifts or things to stash in their freezers.  Please plan to prepare one or two of your favorite baked treats for the event.  We’ll keep reminding you in plenty of time, and remember, when you get those Fall baking urges…cookie dough freezes beautifully!

The Angel Tree project is happening again this year.  The Tree will be up in the Narthex on the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We have requests this year to help 160 people with gifts from the three agencies listed below.  Many want gift cards but there will be some gifts for children.  All gifts will need to be at church by Sunday, Dec. 10th.  More specific directions will be by the tree and in future Epistles.

Housing Initiatives of Princeton – this program, which was started by Trinity Church, provides transitional housing for 24 months coupled with supportive services.  They also provide temporary rental assistance to enable low-income families to retain existing housing or acquire affordable housing.

Urban Promise of Trenton - their mission is to equip Trenton’s children and young adults with the skills necessary for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth and Christian leadership.  We have supported this agency since their inception 11 years ago with the Turkey Trot, summer day camp, and of course the Angel Tree.

Arm in Arm – is another agency started by Trinity church in the 1980’s. We will support the All Kids Thrive program of 15 youth and the Housing Stability  program of 23 families.

Hi there! My name is Grace Francque (pronounced “Frank-ee”), and I’m thrilled to be the new nursery attendant here at Trinity! A little background on me: I’m a student at Princeton Theological Seminary. Come May 2024, I’ll have a Masters in Theological Studies with a Specialization in Practical Theology and a Concentration in Education and Formation (if you think that’s a mouthful, try fitting it on a resume!). Before PTS, I was a student at the University of St. Thomas (MN) – Roll Toms! – where I got a Bachelor’s in Business Management with a minor in Theology and the Common Good. Outside of my educational experience, I’ve worked in dozens of fields from retail to accounting to clergy; I think of myself as a Jack-of-All-Trades, but I have the most fun and the most experience working in childcare! I’m excited to bring my decade’s worth of involvement in youth education and formation to Trinity, and I’m looking forward to meeting the children and families of this beautiful congregation. I’ll be up in the nursery on Sundays from 9am-12pm; I welcome you to stop on by, even just to say hi!

So much is happening at Trinity Church these days!  It's a great time for an experienced Communications professional to join Trinity's staff as our next Communications Director.  This is a part-time position (25 hours per week).  A detailed job description can be found at http://www.trinityprinceton.org/employment.   Please forward it to any people you know who might be interested.  Candidates should send their resume to communicationsearch@trinityprinceton.org.  The search committee for this position, which consists of Tom Scott, Nithila Peter, Annie Bryson, Emily Pruszinski and Phil Unetic, will begin reviewing resumes in several weeks. 

Trinity’s Love Our Neighbors Committee is focusing on ways in which parishioners can become more directly involved in our outreach efforts. Some of the regular programs we currently offer include the Angel Tree at Christmas, Habitat for Humanity work days, and volunteering for the Arm in Arm food pantry, among others. 

At the beginning of this school year, we sponsored a program to provide backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies for 100 elementary through high school age students identified by our outreach partner, HomeFront. The backpacks, which included canvas lunch boxes, were purchased with our Outreach budget, with supplies donated by nearly 40 parishioners.

Jeremy Galyon, Bass-Baritone, is happy to be returning to Trinity Church as section leader and soloist. He and his family attend the church, wife Krista, daughter Elise, son Elliot.

He has sung professionally regionally and internationally in opera and oratorio.
