Dear Trinity Family,

It’s that season again — the time when we, the people of Trinity, turn our hearts and attention toward how we can support our beloved church in the year to come through our gifts of time, talent, and treasure.

Stewardship is a vital part of maintaining a healthy and thriving community. It’s about more than just financial giving — it’s an investment of our hearts, our energy, and our faith in the mission and ministry we share.

Below you’ll find a letter from our stewardship co-chairs, Bill Hackett and Cindy Westbrook. We are deeply blessed to have these two faithful leaders guiding us in this year’s effort.

Please take a moment to read their letter prayerfully, and to consider how you might support the ongoing work and witness of our beloved Trinity Church.

Joan F W Munro Lecturer in Historical Theology Deputy Dean and Academic Dean

Dr. Mark Lindsay is an historical theologian, with over 20 years of experience teaching, researching, and providing senior academic leadership in Australian and overseas universities. His specific areas of interest are Barthian and post-Holocaust theologies, Patristic and modern European Church History, and Anglican Studies.

He did his undergraduate and doctoral work at the University of Western Australia, before moving to Melbourne, where he completed his theological qualifications through the Melbourne College of Divinity. Mark has taught, and held senior academic leadership positions, at two Australian universities. He has also held research fellowships at Cambridge (2005) and Princeton (2016-17).

Author of three books on Karl Barth, Mark has recently published the first authorized biography of Markus Barth (1915-1994), and has also written a major monograph on the history of the doctrine of election. Elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2002 for his scholarship in the field of the German Kirchenkampf of the 1930s, Mark has become an internationally-recognised expert in the theology of Dietrich Bonhoeffer.

An Anglican priest in the Diocese of Melbourne, Mark has served as Chaplain to the Canterbury Fellowship at Trinity College, as associate priest at St. Paul’s Cathedral, and as associate priest at St. Mary’s North Melbourne. He is currently an associate priest at Christ Church Brunswick. In 2019, he was elected to the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Australia.

Elections for four new vestry members will be held during the Annual Meeting on November 9th. Any baptized and confirmed parishioner who has pledged is eligible for nomination. Vestry members serve a three year term.

The Newcomers Forum is a great way for new parishioners to meet fellow parishioners and vestry members while enjoying bagels and coffee.

There will be a couple of welcoming speeches but mostly this is a time for newcomers to get to know more people in the parish.

Dear families,

The candy corn and pumpkin spice lattes make their yearly debuts in August when we’re still on summer break and Halloween feels so far away. Now, deep into October, there is no denying it. Fall is definitely here, and Halloween is already next week!

This year, Miss Catherine is introducing Trinity to another way to celebrate the season. RSVP to the Blessing of the Costumes and church family supper by Friday. It’s on October 27 at six. Don’t miss it!

This Sunday we have Sunday School (K-6) at 9:30, Children’s Chapel (PreK-2) during the 10:30 service, and Youth Group (MS/HS) following the 10:30 service. See you then!

Nicaea at 1700 Conference

October 26th- 28th

2025 marks the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea and the Nicene Creed. This confession of the Triune God’s nature and action in the world set the stage for the development of Christian theology and worship as we know it today.

Trinity Church invites you to a short conference on October 26th-28th to celebrate this anniversary. The conference will include lectures, choral liturgies, food, and fellowship. It will also include a Council of Nicaea role-playing game led by the Rev. Dr. Kirsten Guidero of Marist College. The conference is intended for interested laypeople and clergy, not only for academics, so please do join us!

OUR 50TH RUMMAGE SALE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS THIS YEAR!!!!

MANY THANKS TO OUR COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING THIS HISTORICAL EVENT.

From donations, to shoppers, to all volunteers, family and friends, the Clergy, Vestry, the Sextons it was a magical sight to see! The list is quite long, but moving all the merchandise out of the POD's in record breaking time, and setting up each department in three days, was truly a miracle. Pricing and sorting our donations, in record speed, setting up lunches in the kitchen and enjoying each other's company, was another sight to see. Not only does the Rummage Sale support our local Outreach programs: Arm & Arm, Homefront, Trenton Area, to name a few, it is a time for all of us to re-connect and serve with purpose. The Rummage Committee does not keep a penny of its proceeds.

Lastly, we find great joy in seeing our regular customers come back to shop year after year, and for the volunteers, who work tirelessly to put the sale together.

This year we had OVER 860 SHOPPERS walk through our doors! Our sales were OVER 52,000.00 (and still counting)!

It truly was a MIRACULOUS SALE!!!!

Pub Theology

Monday, October 27th

New Pub Theology Location!

We've moved Pub Theology indoors as the weather continues to get colder.

Join us at 7:30 PM this Monday, and every Monday, at the Yankee Doodle Tap Room at the Nassau Inn, 10 Palmer Square.

CHOIR TO LONDON

In August 2026, our choir will be on tour in the UK, first at Ely Cathedral and then at Westminster Abbey.

Trinity is putting together a trip for any parishioners who would like to support the choir while they are in London - and see the sights in London and beyond.

Whether you are a chorister parent, a spouse or friend of an adult choir member, or a Trinity parishioner who enjoys music, liturgy, and history, this trip is for you!

The tour will include day trips to Canterbury Cathedral and to Oxford, as well as activities in London itself. We will attend daily Evensong at Westminster Abbey, as well as the Sunday Eucharist at which Trinity's choir will sing.

Trinity Choir Silent Auction

Purchase your tickets for the Trinity Choir Silent Auction in advance by visiting https://tally.so/r/nplRvV or stopping by the table in the narthex after the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday or next!

The theme this year is Autumn in England, with food and cocktails curated by our own Leslie Edwards to enjoy while bidding on items and experiences.

Top lots of interest include a weekend in NYC at the Cornell Club, a festive Spanish dinner for 8, Tiffany jewelry, Nine and Dine with the Rector of Trinity Princeton, a night at the ballet with our Director of Music, and one day as honorary Police Chief of Princeton.

There are lots of great things up for auction, both small and large! Come, shop for Christmas for your loved ones, or bid on a treat for yourself, all while supporting our choirs for their upcoming tour to Westminster Abbey!

Free childcare is available (RSVP requested) for this event.

Admission is $50 per person for the auction, which includes dinner, two drinks, and dessert.

Travel to the Holy Land

A couple of years back, some members of Trinity Church traveled with our Rector, Paul Jeanes, and The Rev. Keith Marsh and to the Holy Land.

It proved to be a marvelous and spiritually uplifting experience for all who made the pilgrimage! After retiring in June of 2023, Keith started Spirited Pilgrimages, a business devoted to planning, promoting and hosting unique, small-group pilgrimages around the world for people of faith.

Two pilgrimages have been planned for the fall of next year and you are invited to join:

The Footsteps of Paul – September 9-19, 2026 – travel through Turkey and Greece by land and sea - visit sites from the Book of Acts associated with St. Paul on his missionary journeys: Ephesus, Patmos, Corinth, Athens and more, including the islands of Crete and Santorini
Celtic Christianity – October 12-24, 2026 – follow the path of Christianity’s early years in the Celtic kingdoms, beginning in Ireland and expanding into Scotland and northern England – trace the spread of Celtic Christianity from its introduction by St. Patrick to its demise at the Council of Whitby.

These pilgrimages will be led by Keith, an experienced pilgrimage planner and host.
