Tom Whittemore has been Director of Music at Trinity Church since 2004. He began his music career in the choir of Trinity Church (New Haven, CT). As a youth he performed in numerous opera roles at Yale University and was the treble soloist in the European premier of Leonard Bernstein’s MASS, at the composer’s request, at the famed Konzerthaus in Vienna, Austria. As a young adult, Tom took up organ studies at Choate Rosemary Hall and the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University. He previously served as Director of Music at All Saints Church (Wynnewood, PA) and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church (Philadelphia, PA). Tom has been active for more than 30 years as a guest conductor for the Royal School of Church Music which honored him as an Associate in 2008. He is also a frequent guest conductor at Episcopal Dioceses and parishes around the U.S., as well as a frequent lecturer at leading music colleges in the U.S.
