Lay Leadership in Worship
Trinity Church is remarkable for the variety and depth of opportunities it offers to members to participate in and contribute to its worship life.
Acolytes assist worship leaders during our Sunday services of Holy Communion, Morning Prayer, and Evensong. Training is provided. Children eleven and older, young adults, and men and women of the parish are all welcome to participate. Contact the church office.
Altar Guild members work wiith the clergy to prepare for and carry out the worship of the church. Members faithfully set up for Sunday and weekday Eucharists and clean up afterward. On a weekly basis, the members prepare and care for linens, candles, silver, flowers, altar hangings, and vestments. Members assist at the monthly Eucharist held at Merwick. The Altar Guild meets monthly from October to May on the second Wednesday for worship and discussion. Contact Robbie Ellsworth, at RNE1126@aol.com or at 609-924-7529.
Flower Guild provides the funds to purchase the flowers, greenery, and candles used each Sunday. Special church decorations of Christmas and Easter are particularly noteworthy. Funds are provided from individuals requesting specific memorials, from perpetual memorial endowments, and from general gifts. Each year several hundred individual memorials are listed in our Sunday and Christmas leaflets. Please call the Trinity Church office at 609-924-2277.
Lay Chalice Bearers serve at the Eucharist. By offering the wine in the sacrament, they participate in the ministry of all the people of God within the liturgy - priests, deacons and laity together. Contact Jim Phillips at jwprunner@comcast.net
Lay Readers and Intercessors read the lessons and the prayers of the people at all services on a rotating basis. Interested parishioners are invited to participate in this service of the Word. Contact Curtis Hoberman.
Sound Volunteers enhance worship services by managing volume levels as well as recording services. Contact Art Martin.
Ushers greet parishioners and play an important role in the smooth running of worship services. Usher teams rotate on a six-week schedule. To learn more about ushering, please contact Grant Fraser.
Eucharistic Ministers, licensed by the Bishop, carry the sacrament to homebound members of the congregation who are unable to attend regular church service. Contact the church office at 609-924-2277.
