F3, Fitness – Fellowship – Faith, is a national network of men’s bootcamp workout groups that had its start on New Year’s Day in Charlotte, NC, when two guys from Christ Episcopal Church, David Redding and Tim Whitmire, were frustrated that their current exercise group would not take any new members. So, they got their friends together for that first bootcamp workout at the beginning of the year in 2011. And those friends asked other friends to join them in subsequent weeks. Since that time, F3 has grown to 18,000 men attending on a weekly basis at 1,500 workout locations in 28 states.
F3 Princeton will be the first in New Jersey. Curtis Hoberman, an organizer for F3 Princeton, had read a "Christianity Today” magazine article on this last May, and was puzzled that he could not find it in New Jersey. So, at dark-thirty on a Saturday morning at the end of last June, he made the trek out to an F3 Valley Forge workout in Phoenixville, PA. “It was a great workout experience, reminding me of Princeton YMCA noontime workouts in the early 1980s. The Valley Forge men were very welcoming and encouraging to me, and it had been a very long time since I had done something like this. I am not very good at doing a physical workout alone. I enjoy and need the comraderie and encouragement that comes in working out with other men together,” Curtis says.

The 3rd F
Faith, in the F3 world, simply means believing in something bigger than yourself. F3 is not tied to any particular religious group. In the very short circle of trust at the end, a man can speak a word of wisdom to the group, or mention a need or concern that he may have. And he will have the support of the other F3 men.
F3 Princeton Launch on Saturday, April 13 at 6:30am
